Original Cebu food chain Balamban Liempo gives back to Balamban residents

Turning 5 this year, Original Cebuano Food chain Balamban Liempo has adopted Barangay Abucayan residents in the town of Balamban, the home place of the company's co-founder Honey Vergara.

This is the food chain's way of expressing gratitude to the town that inspired the Balamban Liempo's name and it's unique tasting and aroma filled roasted pork belly or liempo and chicken.

To truly empower the children and people of Abucayan in Balamban and make an impact in the community, Vergara said that Balamban Liempo plans to sustain its adopt-a-barangay program and hopefully adopt more barangays in Balamban town in the future.

Staff and Volunteers conducted a feeding, gift-giving, and story-telling session activity for the children of barangay Abucayan, Balamban. They gave out stuffed toys and learning materials such as pencils and storybooks and conducted interactive games and small group story telling by volunteer story tellers.

The activity concluded with treating the 400 children beneficiaries a sumptuous feast of Balamban Liempo’s distinct and tasty meals.

“This is really our way of giving back to the town of Balamban for inspiring our unique style of grilled liempo which is really the secret to our phenomenal success,” said Vergara.

Balamban is renowned for a native technique of grilling liempo using local herbs and spices which makes it aromatic and tasty.

From its humble beginnings in the year 2009, Balamban Liempo has grown to become one of the Filipino favorite dishes enjoyed nationwide. Balamban Liempo opened eight stores in just one year and now has close to a hundred stores nationwide after a brief period of just five years.

Apart from extending outreach programs to Balamban town, Vergara moreover hopes that the presence of Balamban Liempo stores nationwide can help generate more interest in Balamban and encourage people to visit and invest in the town.

November 29, 2014- I was fortunate to be a part of the recently concluded Ecommerce Entrepreneurs Summit held at the Diamond Suites Cebu and I got a glimpse of developments of the ECommerce industry in the country, the ASEAN region and the rest of the world. 

Indeed, the internet is a huge world where loads of possibilities can happen at any given time for an entrepreneur or an establishment using the right marketing strategy and campaign.

ECommerce entrepreneurs were given light by industry experts on the best practices and strategies to make it big online, build a lasting relationship and convey the right ideas to their respective clients.

The event was spearheaded by non other than the mother of ECommerce in the Philippines, Ms. Janette Toral and was presided by top hitting speakers who thought up of innovative strategies to expand their reach online and reach their target clients.

Much like a system reboot, the event inspired me to continue my online marketing efforts and check along with my peers in the digital world if my techniques and strategies are at par with today’s standards in the digital marketplace.

Manny Pacquiao returns home a hero, receives Military Honors in Gensan

November 24, 2014- Gensan. The People's Champ, Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao returns home a hero from his unanimous decision victory over Chris Algieri in Macau. 

Pacman received full military honors from Army Reserves Command upon arrival in General Santos City International Airport on board an AirAsia Zest flight straight from Macau.

OLX.ph Introduces Yaman Checklist and Yaman Calculator to Cebuanos

OLX Philippines, the country’s leading buy and sell website, recently unveiled the results of their “Yesss Yaman” Study which shows that the Philippines has a total of about 21 Billion worth of unused but functional items that are sitting idly in our homes.

The company also introduced its Yaman Checklist and Yaman Calculator to help Cebuanos identify these unused items (including household items) that can be sold online, including the Cebuano version of their “Yesss Yaman!” Music video featuring VISPOP 2013 Grand Champion Jewel Villaflores.

A Night out with Cebu Bloggers and a glimpse of exciting innovations from Globe Telecom

September 24, 2014- I was given the privilege to be a part of Globe Telecom’s Bloggers and Influencers night held at the Puso Restaurant, Quest Hotel and got a chance to chat and mingle with fellow netizens from Cebu. 

It was one swell of an evening where everyone got to be introduced to Globe Telecom’s exciting projects and innovations designed for the greater convenience of every netizen and of course strengthen their connectivity online following Globe’s opening of its very first LTE- EDD facility at Asiatown IT Park, Cebu City. 

We were ushered in by none other than Globe’s top marketing honchos headed by MVP Yolly, Jocel, Roki and Kath who came all the way from Manila to bring the exciting news to everyone. 

First in their lineup is that everyone can now buy apps in Google Play via GCash. Gone are the days when you’ll be required a Paypal account or Google wallet to make  purchases such as games and kits and all you have to do is simply select the payment option of using a Globe GCash.

Next is GMovies which is now made available in IOS and Android. Now you can be up to date with the latest movies, trailers, showing schedules and even reserve seats at cinemas in the comforts of home using your tab or mobile phone.

In the sidelines of virtual memory enhancement, Globe introduces Globe Cloud where they will supply affordable extra memory to be paid on yearly or per annum. 

On their Community outreach projects, Globe introduced their 1 Phone e-waste recycling program where they’re encouraging everyone to donate their old, abandoned and discarded mobile phones and other electronic gadgets to any Globe Telecom branches for proper recycling and disposal. The proceeds of this program will be used in the funding of school houses and facilities in the province of Aklan, which was greatly devastated by Supertyphoon Glenda (Haiyan).

The night capped off with fun games, goodies, talk and of course party with the rest of Cebu's brother and sisterhood of the blog.
